StopHazing, leaders in promoting safe school, campus, and organizational environments through hazing education and prevention, is pleased to announce the addition of Lauren Griffin, M.Ed., as Program and Prevention Coordinator. This hire reflects StopHazing’s commitment to building organizational capacity to meet the growing demand for effective, research-informed hazing prevention approaches across diverse settings. Griffin will help advance StopHazing’s mission in this full-time role by supporting programmatic initiatives, strengthening prevention networks, and enhancing resources and services.

We are thrilled to welcome Lauren Griffin to the StopHazing team in a full-time capacity! Lauren’s commitment to hazing prevention, alongside her skills and experience as a writer and educator, will help us build capacity to meet growing needs for research-informed hazing prevention and healthy leadership development,” said Dr. Elizabeth Allan, Principal at StopHazing.

Griffin joins the StopHazing team after demonstrating exceptional capability as a Research-to-Practice Graduate Student Intern with the organization. Her transition to this full-time role follows her recent graduation from the University of North Texas, where she earned her M.Ed. in Higher Education and gained experience as a Graduate Assistant after earning a B.A. in English and minors in Secondary Education and Technical Communication at Texas Tech University. As Program and Prevention Coordinator for StopHazing, Griffin will support key programmatic responsibilities, including coordinating trainings, workshops, and summits; supporting annual campaigns like National Hazing Awareness Week; and contributing to capacity-building initiatives such as the StandUp to Hazing Online Course and the forthcoming Hazing Prevention Portal. She will also be critical in developing and sustaining relationships with the Hazing Prevention Consortium (HPC), educational institutions, K-12, professional associations, and partner organizations dedicated to creating safer environments.

Griffin will support StopHazing’s expanding reach through strategic networking, relationship development, and representing the organization at conferences and events nationwide.

“I’m thrilled to transition into a full-time role with an organization so deeply committed to student well-being and prevention work. With a secondary and higher education background and direct experience in fraternity and sorority life, I’m excited to bring a well-rounded perspective to hazing prevention. I look forward to contributing meaningfully to Stophazing’s mission and advancing efforts that create safer, more inclusive communities.”

Griffin brings to the position a valuable combination of education, internship experience, and practical background that aligns perfectly with StopHazing’s mission. Her background and experience in both secondary and higher education provide vital perspectives for developing age-appropriate resources and prevention strategies that can be implemented across educational settings. Additionally, her experience working with fraternity and sorority life, including her membership in the National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC), provides valuable firsthand insight into Greek life culture. This perspective enhances StopHazing’s ability to develop effective prevention programs for all communities. Griffin will contribute significantly to StopHazing’s resource development and strengthen its visibility across multiple audiences.
