In her role, Devin will contribute to the StopHazing mission by supporting research about hazing and its prevention along with the development and implementation of research-based resources and programs for hazing prevention.

Devin earned a B.S. in Finance from the University of Alabama and a master’s degree in Student Development in Higher Education from the University of Maine College of Education and Human Development. Her practitioner’s lens, campus experiences, and research skills will be invaluable to StopHazing’s research-to-practice model.

“I am so excited to continue to build upon the work I completed with StopHazing as a master’s student and continue my educational journey at the University of Maine.I feel that the work being done by this organization lends itself directly to my interest in interpersonal violence prevention research, and I cannot wait to see how I continue to build my skill set,” said Devin.

The StopHazing team continues to expand its staff and capacity to meet the growing demand for research-based programs and support for hazing prevention. The team, led by Dr. Elizabeth Allan, Principal of StopHazing, also includes Meredith Stewart, M.Ed., Operations Manager, Dave Kerschner, Ph.D., Post-doctoral Fellow for Research and Evaluation, and Jenny Desmond, Program and Training Specialist. Additional significant contributions are made possible by StopHazing’s graduate and undergraduate Research-to-Practice and Higher Ed Policy Interns.

StopHazing has launched several new resources and programs over the last year and recently announced new partnerships and initiatives, such as those with the University of Maine and Jolayne Houtz and Hector Martinez, award-winning filmmaker Byron Hurt, and the newest Cohort of the Hazing Prevention Consortium. StopHazing also launched its new online hazing prevention course, StandUp to Hazing™, earlier this year and has delivered it to thousands of learners at institutions across the country.
