StopHazing’s NCSAM & NHAW 2023 Schedule

Welcome back to campus! September is National Campus Safety Awareness Month (NCSAM) and includes National Hazing Awareness Week (NHAW)! StopHazing is excited to share more about the resource releases and programs we have planned, and update you on some exciting new initiatives and partnerships.

From social media engagement to events for students and staff, we hope to connect with you!

Featured Program & Resource: HAZING

This featured program and resource includes: a viewing of the film, a brand new resource to accompany it, and a live Q&A session with Byron Hurt, the filmmaker of HAZING.

About the film:

In HAZING, a 90-minute first-person documentary, director Byron Hurt weaves his personal story with those of a diverse mix of characters. The film features the voices of hazing victims, family members of victims, perpetrators, and scholars, providing historical context with the film’s thematic framework: that hazing is a widespread, far-reaching system fueled by tradition, secrecy, groupthink, power and control, and the desire to belong.

We have also partnered with filmmakers to develop a collection of resources to accompany the film. These materials are designed to support the film’s use as a hazing prevention strategy and part of a comprehensive approach to hazing prevention.

Watch the film!

Register here for access to view the film in the comfort of your own space – no cost.
