StopHazing Membership 2022-2023
The StopHazing Annual Membership program is designed with institutions in mind that are looking to bolster their existing efforts and engage in comprehensive hazing prevention, but may be currently lacking the financial and staff resources to join the Hazing Prevention Consortium. Colleges and universities participating in the StopHazing membership program will receive access to impactful resources, trainings, and assessment tools to help prevent hazing within their campus community.
Included in Membership:
StopHazing member institutions will receive hazing prevention support through assessments, trainings, expertise, and other benefits for a yearly cost of $3,500.*
Assessment
Hazing Prevention Rubric:
Based on the Hazing Prevention Framework (HPF), the Hazing Prevention Rubric (HPR) is a tool for institutions to assess and set goals for improvement of campus hazing prevention efforts across the areas of commitment, capacity, assessment, planning, evaluation, cultural competence, sustainability, and implementation. After completing the HPR, member campuses will have the opportunity to participate in an annual follow-up consult call or videoconference meeting with StopHazing staff to discuss rubric results, campus strengths, potential areas of improvement, and goals for the upcoming academic year.
Hazing Prevention Website Assessment:
Grounded in the Hazing Prevention Framework (HPF) and based on the work of the Hazing Prevention Consortium (HPC) and a research analysis of leading college and university hazing prevention websites, StopHazing member institutions will receive access to a rubric to aid in self-assessment and improvement of institutional hazing prevention webpages.
Trainings
StopHazing Webinar Subscription:
StopHazing member institutions will receive access to the StopHazing webinar subscription program webinars and the option of having an unlimited number of community members (e.g., staff, students, faculty) have access to the four new webinars each academic year. Each webinar comes with companion readings and resources and will be archived for StopHazing members to access in subsequent academic years.
Webinars tentatively planned for the 2022-2023 academic year are:
- Campus Hazing Incident Investigations
- Developing Hazing Prevention Websites
- Hazing Prevention Workshops
- Intersections of Hazing, Mental Health, and Student Well-Being
Hazing Prevention Academy (HPA):
The HPA is a program that provides campus professionals with a foundational understanding of hazing and its prevention. The HPA emphasizes capacity building and commitment to hazing prevention, provides an overview of the evidence-based Hazing Prevention Framework, and features practitioners sharing examples of capacity and commitment to hazing prevention from their campuses. StopHazing member institutions may have up to two staff members attend a virtual HPA for free each academic year.
We Don’t Haze Hazing Prevention Training Package:
StopHazing member institutions will be provided with a digital packet that outlines how to best conduct and evaluate a hazing prevention training featuring the film We Don’t Haze and an optional facilitated discussion. A facilitation script, best practices, discussion slides, and sample evaluation will be provided to members to use with a range of student groups on their campus.
Premium Add-On Options:
Member institutions will have access to additional training options for campus stakeholders – including workshop facilitations and hazing prevention education presentations. Coordinate with StopHazing staff to discuss pricing, program logistics and coordination, and scheduling.
